Team Rees are making our 3rd journey up to Dumfries, and this will be the 3rd variation of our team too! Both Vincent and Joe are unable to make this competition, and so we have recruited young curling sensation Felix Price to play second for us. He is a product of the Beacon Curling programme and represents England with the Junior Men’s team. We will be travelling up Thursday evening and have two games on the first day of competition…although at this point, one of our opponents is still to be confirmed and will be a nice surprise. There are 4 groups of 6 teams in each, and to progress to Sunday’s playoffs we will need to come at least 2nd in our group. There are some other English teams being represented, as Anna Fowler & Jonathan Havercroft both have entered teams but are not in our group. However, the majority of teams in this Scottish Tour competition are young and competitive teams from Scotland. We see this as a great way to begin a new season, as the local league’s don’t start at Fenton’s until Oct 11th. Being on the ice at Dumfries will be good for us, as we know already that we will be back to compete here against 5 other teams for the English Men’s Championships in February. As we play each game we will try and post updates to the page. Wish us luck!
